Abstract: This item contains the abstracts of the presentations given at the 1st annual National Conference on Substance Abuse, held at the Amari Watergate Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand, from 25-27 September 2002. The conference was supported by the Office of the Narcotics Control Board (ONCB) and the Narcotics Affairs Section, Embassy of the United States.

 

The objectives of the conference were to present (1) a new national assessment of the substance abuse situation and the evidence-based macro and micro areas scenario and situation in some specific population in Thailand; (2) the current interventions outcomes at the district level in provincial areas; (3) Thailand in the context of the regional and global scene; and (4) to present the outlook of research and interventions in the future.
